“Stephanie and I Were Doing Some..”: WWE Hall of Famer Unveils Awkward Moment During an Angle With Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

Professional wrestling sometimes explores storylines that make the characters involved a bit uncomfortable. But ever the professionals, the performers go through the angle with such ease that it goes completely unnoticed. A WWE Hall of Famer has recently opened up on how an angle involving Triple H and Stephanie McMahon led to him having an awkward moment.

The power couple of the WWE McMahon and Triple H read the wedding vows back in 2003. The couple was romancing in real life even before that. Their profound love was at the center of multiple on-screen angles as well. Wrestling legend Kurt Angle was involved in an iconic triangle plot with the real-life duo. He recently revealed in his ‘The Kurt Angle Show‘ podcast how he was sometimes uncomfortable during the saga.

He said, “Stephanie was so easy to work with, she was really talented. I, there were times  it got uncomfortable because you know her and Hunter were a thing. And Stephanie and I were doing some, you know being a little bit intimate. But you know she was a professional, and Hunter was too. But it was really cool it was a lot of fun“. Such was the great character work by all three that no viewer felt a sniff of awkwardness.

This was merely one of the angles of the feud between the two legends. The overall chemistry between ‘The Game’ and Angle was appreciated by all the quarters. Not to mention the stellar quality of matches they had owing to their immense talent in the ring.

The Olympian had something unique about him. This is a fact that even The Undertaker agrees with as proven by his recent social media activity.  There are a handful of WWE performers who have had more instant growth in their careers. And Angle is certainly among them. Apart from his undeniable talents in the ring, his command over various promos was quite visible. This was on full display when he was involved in the love-triangle storyline.

The storyline served as a stepping stone for all three

All three characters involved in the storyline skyrocketed to insane popularity levels in their respective careers. While Angle became one of the most talented in-ring performers. Triple H excelled in the villainous persona he was so good at. McMahon also continued her stellar work with the promotion both on and off the screen. This continued until January this year, when she tendered her resignation from the board.

Kurt Angle would have had a few moments of awkwardness during the rivalry. It is bound to occur when a real-life couple is involved. But he would himself consider the Triple H and Stephanie McMahon storyline as a milestone in his career. Angle’s discomfort was purely on the inside, as not many could have made it out on-screen.
