The Miz waited for years for a match against Edge to prove that he is bigger than the Rated-R Superstar. However, he couldn’t do so as Edge beat him at the WWE Day 1 PPV. The WWE Hall of Famer grabbed the victory with a little help from his wife and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, a surprise no one expected.

The Miz and his wife Maryse addressed the situation on this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. The former Intercontinental champion took the mic and said that he couldn’t beat Edge because he respected him.

However, things took an odd turn when Maryse claimed that if Beth Phoenix was here, she would’ve smacked her in the face. The moment she said this, the Hall of Famer’s music hit, and Beth was out.

However, she was not alone as moments later she was joined by her husband, Edge, who made his way out. The couple made it to the ring, where Beth asked Maryse about what she was saying.

Soon, the two couples started dissing each other. However, it was Miz who hinted that he needs a rematch to settle the scores with the Rated-R Superstar.

It looks like Maryse wasn’t happy with Miz because of his demands. However, Edge took it to another level and said that they should have couples match at the WWE Royal Rumble PPV.

“Miz, you’re looking for a way to save face and turn this, as you call it, “travesty” into a victory for yourself. And even though you picked this fight with me in the first place, and what happened at Day 1 would have happened with or without Beth’s interruption, I’m just crazy enough to give you what you want,” said Edge.

To this, Miz took no time in accepting the challenge, much to the dismay of Maryse. Beth Phoenix then attempted to hit Maryse, but she fell to the ground before the punch connected.

Maryse then ferociously marched away from the ring and The Miz followed her asking what’s wrong. Given what happened on Monday Night Raw, it looks like there will be a fallout between Mr. and Mrs. Miz before the Royal Rumble PPV.
