WWE Backlash 2023 gave some impressive matches for its fans to cherish. One of those was definitely for the SmackDown Women’s Championship match fought between Rhea Ripley and Zelina Vega. Even though the intense fight ended in favor of Ripley, the Puerto Rican fans couldn’t cheer more for Vega.

The opening match at Backlash came with some amazing visuals for WWE fans to witness. And most of the credit for this went to fans-favorite, Zelina Vega, as she put up a tough fight against the titleholder. Seeing her commendable efforts to name the championship belt, the Puerto Rican crowd cheered madly for her. But this didn’t go well with The Eradicator.

After the impressive match ended with Ripley proudly defending her championship belt, she faced a not-so-pleasant question. However, being the heel she has been, The Eradicator answered it without wasting a second.

On WWE Digital Exclusive, Ripley was asked to share her true emotions after successfully defending her title. However, before the question, the interviewer also mentioned how the Puerto Rican crowd was strongly behind Vega.

In response to it, The SmackDown Women’s Champion immediately responded in the best of her heel fashion.

She said, “It actually felt amazing. It felt amazing because they were behind Zelina Vega so much, and I shut them all up for good when Mami walked out the SmackDown Women’s Champion still, and Zelina Vega was left in the ring like a little pretzel. So yeah, you could say I’m pretty ecstatic. That’s all you’re going to get from me. Goodbye.

Fans’ cheers for Vega were quite evident, especially when she teamed up with her mom to attack Ripley with a unique object. Despite all of this, nothing could flinch the heel in Rhea Ripley. She proudly owned her victory and shut the mouths of everyone who cheered for Vega. Along with this, she also mentioned how she doesn’t care about the crowd.

The Eradicator doesn’t care about the crowd

In the same exclusive interview, the initial remarks of Rhea Ripley about the crowd might seem outrageous. However, coming from The Eradicator, it wouldn’t feel like anything new.

Ripley said, “I don’t really care if the crowd was strongly behind Zelina. I don’t care about these people. They don’t mean anything to me, just like Zelina doesn’t.

This cold statement of Ripley in her heel element makes it evident that she only comes for the match and nothing else. The fans’ booing doesn’t bother her at all.

Whatever the case, one cannot deny the spectacular performance of Vega at Backlash. Now things have heated more and it would be interesting to what the coming days in WWE bring for fans.
