“That’s for Pharaoh”: Cody Rhodes’ Wife Brandi Lashes Out at Dwayne the Rock Johnson After Smackdown Slap

Cody Rhodes has finally done what John Cena never could despite facing The Rock for two consecutive WrestleMania main events. The American Nightmare stood up to Dwayne Johnson on the 8th March episode of SmackDown and slapped the taste out of his mouth as the Rock would put it. A repeat but reversed telecast of what happened at the WrestleMania Kickoff event.
Things were civil despite Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dwayne Johnson occupying the squared circle together. But, when The Rock brought up family and implied that Rhodes was a mistake, The American Nightmare retorted with a firm slap. In fact, even his wife Brandi Rhodes gave her approval to her husband’s actions and came at The Rock with another insult.

Brandi tweeted the GIF of a slap with the caption, “That’s for Pharaoh and thinking every night is open mic night.” Apparently, The Rock had called Goldust, aka Dustin Rhodes, a Hall of Famer, replacing it with ‘future Hall of Famer’.
These remarks came after Johnson had already referenced Cody Rhodes’ father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes. Moreover, The Brahma Bull referenced Cody’s sister as well, who was a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys endearing her to the Dallas audience where Smackdown was held. He would follow this up by saying the reason there was a twenty year age gap between Cody and his siblings was because he was a mistake.
Naturally, The Rock was bound to get a receipt from Rhodes with all the tasteless remarks. Ironically, just before the slap, The Rock was calling himself the boss of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. In fact, he even said that he owns the WWE.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson is the newest board member of TKO, the organization controlling the management and administration of WWE. However, until now, he had not verbally tried to assert his newfound authority on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. However, this week The Rock didn’t pull any punches and brought up the fact that he not only works on the board of directors but is also their boss.
The Rock said this in response to Cody Rhodes asking him how he could book a match unilaterally when Reigns was The Tribal Chief. While Dwayne Johnson dodged a bullet with his response, he made sure to hammer the point home that he was both of their bosses and an authority figure on the show.
