The Undertaker is one of the most respected wrestlers of all time, and his presence in the locker room is a matter of pride for the Superstars. However, Taker recently rubbed the current WWE roster the wrong way when he said he feels the roster is getting ‘soft.’ In his time, men were men. Many superstars reacted to his comments, including WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.
The ‘Scottish Warrior’ recently sat down for an interview with SportsKeeda and during the interview, he responded to The Undertaker’s recent comments on the roster.
He said, “I don’t agree whatsoever. Especially from an in-ring perspective. I’ve listened to part of it, I’ve got to listen to the whole thing it’s pretty new.”
Being the genuinely good man that he is, McIntyre did not disrespect the legendary Undertaker in his response. He instead said that Taker might have simply said it in a different context as both him and Rogan were talking about the Attitude Era.
McIntyre continued, “I think he may have been referring to like the kind of storylines and characters etc. I think they were perhaps referring to some of the outlandish storylines. Back in the day, there were more sexual based, more like risque 18 plus. Our current product is PG, there’s only so far we can push it and we’re willing to push it.”
Drew McIntyre is a true WWE Champion. He not only responded to the Undertaker’s comment with a sensible answer, but also made sure to hold his fellow wrestlers in high regard by praising their in-ring work. He said there were certain things that were awesome back then and certain things that were not.
“I’m not sure if it was more from like that perspective when it comes to the stories and not being as adult-based as it used to be, but I think you know we’re walking a good line right now. But when it comes to the in-ring game, that’s just not true at all. It’s never been more physical.” said Drew McIntyre
