On Sunday 19th June 2022, WWE informed the news about the demise of former WWE official, Tim White. He was one of the most renowned referees in the company. White worked as André the Giant’s assistant, besides his referee duties.
WWE shared the news on their official Twitter account. The tweet said, “WWE is saddened to learn that long-time referee Tim White has passed away. WWE extends our condolences to White’s family, friends and fans.”

Several WWE superstars were close with White. Surprisingly, one of the WWE superstars White was close was Andre the Giant.
Tim White shares memories with Andre the Giant
Tim White started as a part-time referee in 1985 while working as André the Giant’s agent. In 1993, shortly after Andre’s death, White became a full-time referee, appearing more frequently on pay-per-views and WWE television.
Sometime back, Tim White did a small interview with The Hannibal TV. He shared his experience for travelling with Andre during the time White was his agent.

White said, “I loved Andre okay and there was many great memories. I tried to put that forward is what a great guy he was, not just I know. He was a giant but he was so sensitive and so great. He put women on the pedestal, he loved animals, it was just a great great guy. So when we travelled on the road together it was when I call into the office to take care of like travel plane tickets. It was big bear and little bear. “
He added, “We had a blast together, because really if you got to know him. You know I have been in the business long time, the bigger they are, the greater they are. It’s unreal how the big men in the industry are the nicest guys go in. Andre was the class act and god I loved him and god I miss him everyday and we had a blast.”

While talking about the memories of Andre, we can see White almost getting emotional. White was one of the people who was with Andre in his final days. The former WWE referee couldn was very close to The Eight Wonder of the World and said he missed him every day.
Why did White retire as a WWE referee?

Tim White was the referee for the legendary Hell in a Cell match between Mankind and The Undertaker at King of the Ring in 1998. Furthermore, at one point he almost called off the match until Foley made him stop from doing so.
In 2002, White suffered a shoulder injury during a Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and Chris Jericho on Judgment Day. White returned to referee the match between Chris Jericho and Christian at WrestleMania XX in 2004. However, he re-injured his shoulder during the final three counts of the match, forcing him to end his referee career.

WWE released White on January 9, 2009, ending his 24-year tenure with the company. He provided security for WWE superstars during appearances and autograph signings.
