WWE paid a historic tribute to the victims of 9/11
Two decades ago, as an immediate aftereffect of the unthinkable massacre, WWE set an example by paying tribute to the fallen on their routine SmackDown show at Compaq Center in Houston just two days later. The CEO kicked started the show by cutting to an emotional promo on the purpose of not calling off the episode. The melancholic tribute by the stars to the lost souls heeled it. WWE’s 9/11 documentary was streamed by Peacock again on its anniversary, bringing the stuff of that patriotic episode to young fans.
