The New Day Stuns Bobby Lashley and MVP With a Statement Victory on WWE Raw

Kofi Kingston and Bobby Lashley have been feuding in recent weeks over the WWE Championship. This week, we were supposed to see another match between Kingston’s New Day brethren Xavier Woods and Bobby Lashley. However, things changed and the one on one match became a tag team match.

While last week we heard MVP say he wasn’t medically cleared, he himself pulled the strings to make the contest a tag team match. And with himself as Lashley’s partner. After a lot of wait, the two tag teams clashed in an exciting encounter in the main event of WWE Raw.

The New Day upset Bobby Lashley and MVP on WWE Raw

Kofi Kingston and MVP kicked off the tag team match. Although Mr. 305′ thought it would be easy to put down Kofi, it wasn’t the case. The first half of the match saw The New Day making quick work of MVP’s injured knee. However, the New Day’s dominance only lasted until Lashley tagged in the match.

Once Bobby Lashley tagged in, he didn’t waste much time. He quickly took control of the match with his dominant stature. He looked to soften Kofi Kingston and did so until the former WWE Champion gathered some strength to fight back. Ultimately, The New Day made a strong comeback with Kofi’s suicide dive on Lashley!

However, it didn’t take long for the ‘All-Mighty‘ WWE Champion to take control again. He worked on Xavier Woods, and tagged in MVP. Although MVP hit Woods with his patented ‘Ballin Elbow,’ Woods managed to tag Kofi in. And then, he gave MVP the taste of his own medicine with a ‘Ballin Boom Drop!’

In the ultimate moments of the match, Kofi Kingston hit Bobby Lashley with a trouble in paradise. This sent Lashley to the outside, but Woods took him out with a crossbody. This allowed Kofi to reverse MVP’s attempt of a playmaker and connected with another Trouble in Paradise to pick up the win.

The New Day didn’t celebrate in the ring as usual because of a furious ‘All-Mighty WWE Champion’ charging to the ring after the ring bell. Either way, The New Day got a huge victory and have the psychological advantage heading into Money in the Bank.
