Last weekend, WWE held their most important premium live event of the year, WrestleMania 40. Years and years of storylines came to a close at this year’s edition of The Show of Shows. Throughout the two nights of the event, we had several bouts take place, and several championships were up for grabs. And one spectacle that solidified its place in history was the fight for the United States Championship.

Logan Paul put his championship on the line against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. And while all odds seemed stacked against him, the YouTube star managed to come out as the victor of the match. But, despite the interference of IShowSpeed, he has earned credit in the bank by defeating these legends. Nevertheless, Paul remarked that he still hadn’t received enough commendation.

This year’s WrestleMania is already considered one of the best events in WWE history. This year’s Showcase of the Immortals witnessed several changes in terms of championship statuses with legendary reigns such as Gunther’s, and Reigns‘ title runs coming to an end. With so much to talk about, it created a lot of engagement on social media. But according to Paul, it is all because of him and his social media fame. In a video he posted on X, he said, “What did you expect? It was the biggest WrestleMania ever. That’s not a surprise to me. I was a part of it. Every event I’ve been a part of has been the biggest event WWE has ever had. Is that a coincidence? No. Do the math. 650 million impressions on social media. Based on this WrestleMania, 200 million of those came from me. And my team. The Prime team. IShowSpeed, Prime Bottle, Logan Paul. It is a new era, as we’re all saying. The hashtag Logan Paul Levesque era.”

While we know that Logan Paul is an internet megastar, it is tough to digest that he alone was responsible for such success for the WWE. But credit where due, he surely has become a top draw for the company. In fact, this year’s WrestleMania ticket sales number did not require much manipulation by the company. Which alone proves the grand success that it was.

WWE did not boost WrestleMania sales numbers

Historically, WWE has been known for manipulating attendance data at its major events, especially regarding WrestleMania. It was evident that the numbers announced by the company were exaggerated compared to the tickets actually sold. However, this practice seems to have changed, and in the last edition of the glorious event, the exaggeration didn’t suffice.

As discussed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the viewership data revealed by WWE during WrestleMania XL was authentic. Although they showed approximately three thousand more people than the number of tickets sold, it is customary for WWE to include celebrities, special guests, and complimentary tickets in the final tally. Therefore, unlike in previous years, this year’s figure could be considered accurate.

With Vince McMahon out of WWE, the company has indeed undergone significant changes, and some controversial practices are likely to be eliminated. In addition, WrestleMania XL was a success both in terms of attendance and revenue generated, so the company can be proud in that regard. What did you think of this year’s edition of the big event?
