The Undertaker Made Vince McMahon Put Championship on Infamous WWE Hall of Famer

WWE Legend The Undertaker is undoubtedly one of the most popular characters in all of wrestling history. His name alone holds a weight in WWE. So when The DeadMan says something, more often than not, it is like written in stone.

Even WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon listens to what The Undertaker has to say. Needless to say, Taker always put the fans and company before his own personal interests. However, according to reports, there is one time when Taker used his power of Vince to make a title change back in the day.

But it was not for himself, but for his close friend, The Godfather. Speaking on the “It’s My Wrestling Podcast” The WWE Hall of Famer believes that Taker was involved in him winning the Tag Team Championship in 2000.

“So when they put me in as The Goodfather, it wasn’t fun no more. So right away I was like, ‘Dude, I’m out of here.’ I think ‘Taker went to Vince and said I’m getting ready to leave, and all of a sudden they drop the belts on me. And I had loyalty, I’m not going to run out with the belts. As soon as they got those belts off of us then I finished that because I really wasn’t having fun.”

On the November 6, 2000 edition of RAW, Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather defeated The Hardy Boyz for the championships. The Godfather despised his “Goodfather” gimmick at the moment and wanted to leave WWE. But the title change might have changed his mind.

The Goodfather and Bull Buchanan held the WWE Tag Team Championships for 34 days before losing them to Christian and Hall of Famer Edge.

The Godfather loved working with The Undertaker

It is no secret that both superstars are good and close friends with each other outside the squared circle as well. WWE Universe saw their incredible chemistry when both men fought each other.

Taker was always a favourite of the Godfather. He’s played five to six different characters with him. Godfather enjoyed working with Taker and considered it a pleasure. He said that they began their friendship together and are still close friends now.

As Soultaker, Papa Shango, Goodfather, Godfather, and Kama Mustafa, Charles Wright collaborated with on several occasions.
