One of the greatest gifts that Vince McMahon’s WWE has given to the fans is The Undertaker. No one in professional wrestling has even come closer to reaching the level of The Undertaker. Mark Calaway carried the character of The Undertaker for over thirty years, and the WWE Universe ate that up.
However, it was not a simple task for the WWE creative to put ‘The Deadman’ in storylines that have blown off the roofs of their television ratings. Even if the company writers had cringe stuff for Mark Calaway, they were smart enough to make it enjoyable.

Regardless, The Undertaker’s television storyline was shaped when his family was introduced to the fans. So naturally, talk about Taker’s family members, Kane and Paul Bearer, pops up in mind.
WWE legend shoots on the family of The Undertaker!
Even though WWE fans enjoyed the storyline of The Undertaker and Kane, it was a twisted one. As per the ‘Brothers of Destruction’ storyline, ‘The Deadman’ believed that everyone in his family died in a tragic fire.
However, Paul Bearer kept ‘The Big Red Monster’ Kane hidden, and later, at Bad Blood 1997, he made his shocking debut. The former WWE Executive Bruce Prichard sat with co-host Conrad Thompson on the Something to Wrestle podcast to discuss Taker’s family.
Prichard said, “You know all those nights, The Undertaker, you were down there, and you heard your momma moaning and groaning. Oh, yes!”

In the late 90s, Glenn Jacob, aka Kane, was introduced to the WWE Universe as The Deadman’s younger brother. At first, WWE Executive laughed for even thinking of adding more members to The Phenom’s family. Prichard noted that WWE writers had difficulty adding Kane to the family angle.
The WWE creative almost had Kane out of the storyline
During that time, it was even rumored that Paul Bearer would reveal more members into Taker’s family angle. Well, the WWE legend, Bruce Prichard, shot down the whispers in an unfiltered discussion that the company never planned to have more members in The Undertaker’s family.
“No, it was pushing it to get Kane in there! And then pushing it even more to reveal that Paul Bearer did up with his mama,” WWE Executive mentioned.
WWE brought Kane to life during ‘The Deadman’ vs. Shawn Michaels match. Taker and Michaels squared off in a Hell in a Cell match, and suddenly lights went off, and Kane entered the arena.

Indeed, the WWE Universe appreciated the twisted storyline that gave birth to ‘Brothers of Destruction’. However, initially, the plans were a mere ‘What If,’ according to Bruce Prichard.
