WWE is currently known for paying a huge amount of salary to its current employees. Most of WWE’s current superstars enjoy good pay while the top superstars earn an unimaginable amount of money beyond anyone’s understanding. Top stars such as The Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Hulk Hogan earned a fat paycheck even during the early days of the company.

Superstars such as Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar earn an extremely high amount of money. Reports from ‘Fightful and Observer’ state Brock Lesnar’s salary is around $5 million, with $500,000 for each main-event appearance. While Roman Reigns is number second with $5 million. However, such was not the case in the 1980s and 1990s.

In the early days of WWE/WWF, several wrestlers complained of receiving extremely low pay. One such was the 380 pounds, Kamala. During an interview, he opened up on the pay differences. He stated that he enjoyed working with The Undertaker because of how easy it was.

In the same interview, the host then asked about the pay differences between The Undertaker and him, something which Kamala had found out a few years later.

The Ugandan Giant said, “Yeah! Anyway, I’ve been approached by that, so I can’t call no names but anyway I saw it on the book. It was in Pat Patterson’s dressing room, it was a Pat Patterson book. … And the payoff, and it had to be the payoff because I knew what I made.”

He continued, “Mine was thirteen thousand dollars and The Undertaker, half million dollars. For one night. That was a big difference. So, I mean, I knew that was unfair.” When the host further asked Kamala how he felt when he looked at that book, wrestling in the same match, and how did he react to that.

Kamala responded, “Yeah! Couldn’t concentrate after I saw it was before my match that night. And I don’t know who I was working with that night when I saw it. But it was at the Nassau Coliseum, I couldn’t concentrate on my match. I knew if I approached Vince, it wouldn’t do any good. But I mean, I did but it didn’t do no good at all.”

“But I don’t think I told Vince I knew what The Undertaker made and then it would have been, ‘How do you know? Who told you that?'”

Kamala claimed, “So anyway I told him I wasn’t happy with it. So he told me, ‘James, you know I don’t want to keep anybody from making a living. If you’re not happy with what you made, you are welcome to go.”

He was later involved in a lawsuit against WWE alleging them for paying their employees very low pay, which, according to reports, kept him away from the Hall of Fame.

How did WWE Legend Kamala pass away?

The Ugandan Giant was a legendary superstar and had several stints in WWE. Unfortunately, he was never well paid for his time in the company. And as mentioned earlier, he was involved in a lawsuit against WWE, blaming them for their low pay.
