WWE Hall of Famer Lita captured a title in WWE for the first time after 2006 with Becky Lynch on RAW The 47-year-old pinned Io Sky after connecting a moonsault to win the Women’s tag team championships. Moreover, another WWE legend Trish Stratus made her return to help her friend and The Man.  Even though Stratus’ return seemed perfect, surprisingly, a wrestling legend says WWE should have booked Stratus, similar to how Vince McMahon would have done.

Bully Ray had some major points in the recent episode of his podcast. He claimed that WWE should have let 2013 WWE Hall of Famer appear at the start of the match.

Bully Ray explains what is the Vince McMahon formula for booking tag team matches 

In the recent episode of the Busted Open podcast shared, Trish Stratus should have been ringside sooner. He explained why he thinks so by sharing what Vince McMahon told him once.

“I learned this lesson directly from Vince McMahon,” Ray said. This happened when his partner D-Von Dudley was in a match against Ron Simmons. Ray and JBL were at ringside since the beginning. Ray asked McMahon why he and JBL are ringside and if they can do a run-in later.

Bully Ray recalled, “He (Vince McMahon) goes, ‘If you are outside the ring, people who are watching TV who are just click through see you guys outside. They are going to think that you are going to get involved, so they are most likely to stick on the channel.”

This was the rationale storytelling of professional wrestling as per Ray. Hence, he thought Mr. McMahon was right and wanted Stratus to be ringside instead of a run-in. 

Nevertheless, this wasn’t a bad booking decision as many fans loved to see her return for the WrestleMania season. She later expressed the reason for her return and said she was on the lookout for Bayley.

Bubba Ray Dudley’s way of booking Trish Stratus

After explaining Vince McMahon’s formula, the 10-time tag team champion said Stratus should have been ringside. This would have gotten more eyes to the show as per the WWE legend. She would have kept an eye on Bayley trying to interfere in the match and stopped her. This would’ve given fans 10 minutes of Trish Stratus on RAW.

He said, “So the WWE who is still sticking to at 10 mins at 10 ET is like, ‘Holysh*t it’s Trish! I gotta watch the end’. Or somebody that might be scanning through goes, ‘Hey I know her! That’s Trish Stratus’.”

Ray added, “Now you have familiar superstar on your TV set longer than the one minute that we got to see her or 2 minutes.”
