WWE has always taken the decision based on The Authority’s motto, ‘Best for Business’ and they haven’t made major errors as a company. Whether there may be top superstars or moments that could change wrestling forever, Vince McMahon has a bias for the business. If it doesn’t make money, then it doesn’t matter, and what is the best way to make money than saving it?
In the past, WWE has saved a lot of money by letting go of many wrestlers. Under the guise of budget cuts, WWE let go of wrestlers who were former WWE champions and had been in the main event of WrestleMania. That time will come once again as Endeavor’s acquisition will lead to some cost-cutting, but this former booker makes a bold prediction.

Former WWE GM makes a shocking prediction about layoffs coming to Endeavor’s companies
On an episode of 83 Weeks, Eric Bischoff sat down with Conrad Thompson to talk about the new deal. Then they talked about the potential layoffs under the guise of cost-cutting, and Bischoff had some bold predictions. First, he talked about WCW being merged in the past and the details of a wrestling company being merged with a giant corporation.

Then he stated, “This is a guess. I suspect that there will be more layoffs in the UFC than there will be in the WWE.” For this prediction, Bischoff gave a logical reason. He explained how WWE is a sophisticated machine when it comes to TV deals and licensing and merchandizing.
In the end, he added, “I think there will be a layoff, but the majority of them are going to come out from the UFC. I’d be more concerned if I was working for UFC than if I was working for WWE right now.”
Add to this that fans are already enraged about Vince McMahon coming back to the creative side of WWE. There will be a major loss of fans as well as the morale of the company might go down.
Layoffs in the past caused a major stir in the wrestling business
The last time that WWE laid off a bunch of wrestlers was during the COVID period. While in the books, WWE had never been more profitable, they made a lot of budget cuts. Former WWE Champions, Braun Strowman, and Bray Wyatt, among others, were released from the company.

This resulted in AEW gaining a lot of former WWE talent, like Cesaro, Ruby Riot, and Toni Storm. They even became champions in the competitor’s brand. We hope that the same doesn’t happen in WWE again as the morale of the company was at its lowest back then.
