WWE is by far the biggest sports entertainment company out there and many wrestlers including current AEW star Chris Jericho made their name in the promotion. Jericho earned many championships and accolades in WWE and some of them have stayed with him even after he left the company.

Despite being the first AEW World Champion, wrestling in NJPW, many fans still harp on about his time working for Vince McMahon’s company and one issue in particular bugs him still.

What is the ex-WWE wrestler so mad about?

For those who are not aware, Jericho joined AEW after leaving WWE. It appears that he has been having a great work experience there. The wrestler also sees it as a supreme workplace to WWE. Similarly, he has left behind all his connections and relations to WWE.

Apart from his career success, Jericho did not consider anything worthy enough to carry forward. But some things that his fans do doesn’t sit well with him. This includes calling him by his former WWE nickname.

It kind of bugs me when people chant ‘Y2J, there are so many other things I’ve done since then,” mentioned the former WWE wrestler. The efforts that he has made in his career post-WWE seem to be undermined when fans address him by this old name.

Although the issue seems serious, Jericho explains that nothing about it bugs him in a bad way. In fact, he states the reason why he believes he shouldn’t be addressed by his former name.

Jericho leaves his WWE past behind

For some fans, there is no greater advice than your celebrity idol giving you professional tips. So, to inform his fans, Jericho explains the exact reason why he prefers not to stick to old names.

He mentions how he would not have reached where he is today if it wasn’t for his wish to keep moving forward. “It’s very important to stay fresh and stay current. Respect your past but always think of the future,” exclaimed the pro wrestler. He even believes this to be the reason for his immense success: “I think it’s one of the reasons why I’ve still been able to stay on top for so long, it’s always different.

The tip is to always look forward and work for a better future enhances an individual’s capability and allows them to be the better version of themselves.
