Hailing from the 2002 OVW class, the American star would make his debut in 2002, one year earlier before Stone Cold walked out of WWE. Stone Cold Steve Austin is another legend of WWE, who revolutionized the attitude era and was a crucial part in beating WCW during the Monday Night rating war.

Recently, while speaking on a podcast, The Texas Rattlesnake revealed what the moment could have been if Steve Austin had faced Cena. The legendary wrestler heaped praises on The Champ while speaking on the podcast and revealed how special it would have been.
“Working with him (John Cena) would have been a real highlight, and I've had a bunch of highlights. It would have been a real special thing.
There is something about John.”

Steve Austin also revealed how there is a special aura about John Cena, and not everyone has it. Both Austin and Cena are two legends of two different eras.
While Cena made his debut in 2002, Austin would walk out of WWE in 2003 after creative differences. Fans wonder if Austin had not walked out, they might have witnessed a special moment between the two.
What did Stone Cold Steve Austin say about John Cena?
Recently speaking on the ‘Out of Character’ podcast with Ryan Satin, Austin opened up about the dream match between him and Cena. Stone Cold would heap praises on him, and describe how they could have had a special moment between the two.
He would also describe Cena as something special. Austin said, “Working with him (John Cena) would have been a special thing.” He further said, “There is something about John.”

Steve Austin made his return to in-ring action at WrestleMania 38 against Kevin Owens in the main event of Night 1 of ‘Mania. Although, he is still rumored to return this year for a match against LA Knight. Though it’s pending confirmation, fans are expecting them to clash against each other at WrestleMania 39.
John Cena is also returning for a match at WrestleMania against Austin Theory for the US Title. Fans are expecting it to be a passing of the torch moment between these two. Steve Austin versus John Cena would have been a dream match, however, it never occurred.
Initially, it was reported that Austin would face Cena at ‘Mania. However, it never took place, and the WWE locked Theory in as the opponent for Cena at WrestleMania 39.
