CM Punk is known for constantly taking shots at WWE on social media, and it seems like he has done it again. This time Punk weighed in on his thoughts about WWE’s ThunderDome.
Replying to a fan’s question on Twitter, the former WWE Champion expressed his opinion on ThunderDome and how it all looked to him.
Feels like I’m in the greeting card section of a Walgreens. Think they got the idea from the NBA? Don’t like the thought of them “directing” fans. But it’s a clever idea.

As you can see in the post above, Punk has been colorfully brief again but manages to get his point across.
CM Punk shares the same views as many fans
What Punk highlighted as the shortcomings of ThunderDome is pretty much the general consensus. Many fans have joked that the new setup of faces on the screen looks a lot like online classes. Some even feel it looks a bit creepy.

It’s no secret that WWE ThunderDome is somewhat inspired from NBA. Using some of the NBA’s visual creations, ThunderDome goes a step further. It’s hard to believe that this idea was originally conceived by WWE.

The other thing that Punk finds off is the fact that WWE’s staff ‘directs ‘ fans in the virtual rooms. Whenever a Superstar enters, or the match reaches a high point, the host asks viewers to clap or cheer, thus keeping the background audience dynamic.
Here’s an example of the WWE virtual audience getting directions from a producer.
Very smart of them to do this.

While this was appreciated by many fans, Punk probably feels like direction shouldn’t be needed.
ThunderDome has worked like a charm for WWE
WWE introduced ThunderDome a little over a week ago and it has taken off very well. The company has seen a tremendous rise in viewership over the brands. SmackDown and Raw recorded pre-lockdown numbers this week!

The former WWE Superstar felt that it was a good idea overall. There’s nothing more of a compliment that WWE can get from Punk.

CM Punk still harbors resentment over WWE following his departure from the company in 2014. He doesn’t turn down an opportunity to hit back at WWE time and again.
