“This is a Movie” – Beth Phoenix on Edge and Christian’s Triumphant WWE Return and AEW Debut

In the pro-wrestling business, whenever a wrestler comes out of a career-threatening injury, it becomes a wholesome moment for the wrestler and their fans. This wholesome moment happened with Edge and Christian recently.

Edge retired from WWE way back in 2011 because of multiple injuries on his neck that he had sustained in the course of his career.

Christian Cage aka Christian retired from the sport back in 2014 when he won a Fatal-4-Way match to earn a title shot against Big E, but that never happened because of a serious concussion that forced him to retire.

Miraculously, both the wrestlers have made an epic return in the wrestling business and are successfully performing day in and day out.

Both the superstars are currently performing under two different promotions where Edge is chasing Roman Reigns in WWE and Christian Cage recently had a feud with Matt Hardy at AEW.

Beth Phoenix shares the bond Edge and Christian share

Recently, in an interview with Renee Paquette on her Oral Sessions podcast, WWE legend Beth Phoenix talks about when her husband, Edge, and Christian were both on their way to get back into action.

She highlighted it is because of their friendship that they are doing so well in the business and have the strength to get back into the ring after so many years.

“It was as casual when it happened to Adam [Edge]. They just started casually talking about it. I think Jay [Christian] was doing the same processing that Adam did on his own. They’ve leaned on each other so much throughout all this, they have each other. It’s the neatest story. I tell them all the time. This is a movie.” Beth expressed.

The Rated-R Superstar made his comeback at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in 2020 and surprised the WWE Universe and the rest of the wrestling community. He later feuded with ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton and right now he is in the Universal Championship picture.

Christian miraculously appeared in the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble, shocking everyone after seven years, in the same match Edge and Christian shared an emotional moment when they hugged each other.

Christian left WWE shortly after his appearance and signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) where he wrestles under the ring name Christian Cage.
