

FTR is one widely known tag team of AEW that takes its roots from the competing promotion, WWE. During their days in the Stamford-based promotion, they were known to all as The Revival. However, the duo wasn’t that pleased with their booking on the roster and decided to leave.
During their run in WWE, both Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler shining performers. They were even the first ones to be the company’s first-ever WWE Tag Team Triple Crown winners. Despite achieving great success in the promotion, the duo felt underutilized and thus requested their release. Eventually, they were granted their release in 2020. However, a recent social media post of Dax Harwood hinted at their return.
Soon after their release, they joined the Florida-based promotion to become one of the top tag teams in the world. But according to Harwood, The Usos could’ve joined them in AEW.

Dax Harwood hoped The Usos would jump ship with them
Speaking on the recent episode of FTR with Dax, Harwood recalled the time when the duo was about to leave WWE. He then disclosed that FTR and The Usos’s contracts with WWE were about to expire at the same time. Thus, they thought that Jey and Jimmy would join them in their next venture.

Dax said, “Because if we went to AEW, and AEW had The Young Bucks, had The Usos, and had us, that would have been the three top tag teams in the world being able to finally work together. And being able to finally, without any kind of training wheels on we’d be able to go full bore, and it was an exciting time for me.”
However, this desire of the 38-year-old didn’t come to fruition. It would’ve been a treat for wrestling fans to see three fantastic tag teams in the same promotion wrestle each other, but it couldn’t be. The AEW star also explained the side of the twin brothers and possibly explained why they couldn’t jump ship.
The reason behind The Usos not leaving WWE
Dax Harwood also described what would have been the reasons for The Usos to stay put in WWE at that time. He mentioned how much the brothers owed to the promotion and to Vince McMahon for giving them a chance. They were also given good opportunities and they surely have made the most out of it.

Their decision not to leave the roster must be a conscious one looking after what’s best for them and their families. Looking at The Usos and their placement on the roster and the whole Bloodline storyline, this was certainly a move that paid off for current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.
