Triple H was praised immensely for the partnership he brought to life during the Royal Rumble this year. The CCO of WWE opened the ‘forbidden door’ between his promotion and TNA. During the women’s Rumble match that opened up the PLE, we saw the reigning female TNA Knockout’s World Champion entering the arena as the fifth entrant.
WWE and TNA may thrive as partners despite Vince McMahon’s clashing views
Jordynne Grace had the opportunity to break the barriers between two rival promotions and provided an amazing experience for wrestling fans. While talking to Fightful recently in an interview, the TNA superstar was asked about her views on whether or not she envisions further such partnerships along the line. Grace said, “I have no personal or insider knowledge or anything but I have a very good gut feeling. And I feel like it’s a win-win for literally everybody.” She further added, “There’s nothing bad that could come from a relationship between TNA and WWE. TNA gets exposure and an ability to just like represent their brand and WWE gets to do something awesome for the wrestling community.”

Even though Vince McMahon was against these types of cross-promotional partnerships, Triple H made it happen for the promotion. This opening of the door could lead to potential partnerships between the two promotions, which spell good news for wrestling fans.
Paul Levesque is also fairly protective of TNA’s image following their recent crossover, as he wants the media to reduce the usage of the term ‘forbidden door’ when it comes to WWE’s partnerships with other promotions. In fact, he chastised AEW head honcho Tony Khan for using such cliche terms.

Triple H takes shots at Tony Khan for using outdated terminology
After the Royal Rumble event was wrapped up, the WWE crew gathered for a post-event press conference. While talking to the reporters present at the venue, Triple H was asked to shed light on the ‘forbidden door’ moment during the women’s Royal Rumble event. Before moving forward with this reply, HHH asked the media to not use this sort of terminology for any partnerships that WWE engages in, in the future.
This was a subtle aim at Tony Khan because AEW’s partnership with NJPW was named ‘Forbidden Door’. However, the CCO of WWE doesn’t want to label such partnerships with cliched terms.
