Doctors always suggest not to indulge in self-treating habits as they can lead to dangerous repercussions. That’s what happened with the 54-year-old pro wrestler. In 1996, Dustin Rhodes suffered a knee injury. To cope with his pain, he started consuming some ‘Vicodins’ and ‘Opioids’. Back in those days, accessing a doctor’s medical help was less convenient. Therefore, he opted for self-treatment. Soon, taking pills turned into a habit. And because of his incompetence in withdrawing from his habit, he fell into the clutches of addiction.
However, it has been 15 years since he became clean. To mark the occasion, he shared a heartfelt message on his social media profile.

Dustin Rhodes is proud of his achievement
The AEW star recently went to his Twitter account to celebrate his milestone. He revealed he has been “clean and sober” from “drugs and alcohol” for 15 years now. And for that reason, he feels really proud of himself. He added that his road to recovery from his addiction was not an easy one.

But his sheer will and determination paid off, as he was committed to getting better. He then expressed his gratitude to God for giving him a “second chance” in life. He also promised that he wouldn’t let his second chance go to waste by switching back to his old ways.
