WWE has recently announced the 22nd Edition of the King of the Ring tournament to be held this month. The event is a single-elimination tournament and will begin on October 8 during Friday Night SmackDown and will continue to be held in the following episodes of RAW and SmackDown.

However, the final of the tournament is likely to take place at WWE’s next PPV – WWE Crown Jewel 2021. The last time WWE hosted the King of the Ring tournament was back in 2019; Baron Corbin, now known as Happy Corbin, was the winner that year.

Former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion Xavier Woods is eagerly waiting for the tournament to begin. He considers King of the Ring as his most favorite thing in all the land.

The WWE Superstar also claimed that he wants to get the king’s crown if WWE puts him in the tournament.

Previously, Woods revealed he has been trying to get in the King of the Ring tournament ever since he signed in 2010. With him being a big fan of the tournament, it will be interesting to see whether he will take part in the tournament this time around.

This was kind of similar to last year when Kofi and Xavier Woods got drafted to Raw while Big E remained at SmackDown. However, Big E’s WWE Championship win got them reunited last month as Big E automatically made the switch to the red brand.
