Cody Rhodes is one of the most popular superstars in the wrestling industry due to his stints with the WWE and AEW. The American Nightmare was a former WWE superstar who left the company back in 2016. However, after earning his name on the indie circuit, Rhodes would c0-found AEW along with several other independent wrestlers and Tony Khan.

AEW soon became a direct competitor to WWE and rose up the ranks. While WWE is one of the biggest wrestling promotions, AEW is not far behind. Tony Khan’s wrestling promotion is one of the biggest names and a direct threat to the Stamford-based wrestling promotion currently.

However, after an extremely good run with AEW, Rhodes would leave the promotion last year in February. While speculations arose of his return to WWE, it would turn true out to be true when he made his way into the company at WrestleMania 38 and faced Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.

However, after a series of matches with Rollins, Rhodes would suffer a pectoral injury and ruled himself out for an indefinite period. He recently returned to Royal Rumble 2023, and won the event, while also challenging Roman Reigns for his undisputed title.

Recently, AEW talent and wrestling legend Arn Anderson spoke to WrestlingNews, and praised The American Nightmare. Anderson was all praises for Cody Rhodes and had high words for him. He spoke about his current run in WWE, and how he expected wonders from him. Further, Anderson also spoke about Rhodes’ relationship with his former roster mates from AEW.

What did Arn Anderson reveal about Cody Rhodes’ relationship with AEW after leaving the company?

Despite WWE and AEW being rival promotions, both are wrestling companies. Anderson insisted that despite being rival promotions, the talents are not rivals.

He said, “All the talent are friends, not all, but a lot of us are friends. The fact that we work for rival companies, you know, that’s just the way it is.” The 64-year-old further claimed that everybody cannot work for the same company, but that does not make them rivals. Although Anderson did not take Khan’s name directly, he made it understood via his words how Rhodes still has a good relationship with his former boss.

He further praised Rhodes’ stint in WWE and claimed he would do “wonders” for the company. Anderson concluded with how happy he was with Rhodes currently and sometimes wishes AEW still had him.

Nevertheless, Rhodes is currently a main-event star. The company has high hopes for The American Nightmare.
