Wrestlers switching between promotions is not a new thing to wrestling fans. Sometimes the decisions don’t work out well for the wrestlers switching promotions. However, on alternate occasions, they do. One such wrestling star is Roman Reigns‘ former opponent. As far as this ex-WWE star’s case is concerned, he was recently able to get himself more work than just in-ring action.

AEW recognized Bryan Danielson‘s talent and allowed him more freedom. To be clear, the former WWE star is contracted to AEW and has also started helping the company with ‘creative’ ideas. This resonates with his time in WWE while also giving him more career opportunities for the time he retires from in-ring action.

Bryan Danielson worked for WWE between 2009-2021. Danielson had his eyes set on The Tribal Chief’s Universal championship title during his last few days in the company. He attempted a number of times before giving up. Reigns last wrestled with Bryan Danielson during a SmackDown match on April 30, 2021. After losing, the 42-year-old left WWE to join AEW months later in September 2021.

Two years later, Danielson has found his own way up the ladder, this time not by trying to wrestle The Tribal Chief but by working with the ‘creatives’ of AEW. On the radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Bryan Danielson’s ideas resonate with that of Tony Khan. This made it easier for the two to work together. AEW Collision, which the audience will see premiere on June 17, is a product of Khan and Danielson working in sync.

Danielson also has previous experience with his new job role. Some of his fans would recall the wrestler having worked for WWE’s creative team as well. Despite that, he was not able to save himself from being defeated by Roman Reigns four times within a span of three months.

Danielson’s quest to acquire Reigns’ title began during Elimination Chamber in February 2021. There, he tasted defeat at the hands of The Tribal Chief. Then at WWE Fastlane, Reigns again won a decisive victory. However, Danielson was not done yet. The wrestler went on to challenge The Tribal Chief for a third round. This time, the two faced each other at WrestleMania 37. This was a triple-threat match in which Edge was also involved.
