There are many professional athletes who often take an immense interest in different sports out of their usual ones. Specifically, when it comes to wrestling vs UFC, there are a lot of UFC stars who are avid fans of WWE and vice versa.

Daniel Cormier, one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time, is certainly one among them. The UFC Hall of Famer is currently trying his feet as an ESPN announcer/ podcaster. The former UFC heavyweight champion never held back his inclination toward wrestling. That becomes even more crystalline when he worked as a referee at Extreme Rules during the Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins last year. The UFC commentator will also be involved at WrestleMania.

Daniel Cormier confirms his role at WrestleMania 39

While DC made it clear that he will always prioritize his role as a UFC commentator and analyst, he didn’t rule out his potential alliance with WWE either. He already had one tryout with Stanford’s company as an announcer back in 2018. However, this time it looks like Jon Jones’ long-term rival is all set to make his WWE connection stronger, at the biggest stage of wrestling.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, the former UFC star confirmed his plan for the upcoming WrestleMania 39. The wrestling enthusiasts noted, ‘I’m going to WrestleMania. The first week of April for ESPN, I’ll be leading the coverage for WrestleMania. I’m so excited about it. So I’ll be at WrestleMania, just in a different capacity, and we’ll see what the future holds down the line.’

Cormier also indicated he could reinvigorate an old rivalry with a WWE star.

Cormier teases a potential confrontation with his old foe Brock Lesnar

He didn’t even refrain from putting a threat to legendary WWE superstar Brock Lesnar, saying, ‘If Brock steps in my way? I’ll smack him upside his head.’ But it was not something out of the blue. The Beast Incarnate and the DC have some history to look back. WWE legend, Lesnar who had a remarkable career in the UFC, once shoved DC in the cage during UFC 226 in July 2018.

Following the incident, Lesnar went on like, “Let me tell you something. I walked into this building and watched the heavyweight disasters from the beginning. [Francis] Ngannou’s a piece of sh*t. [Stipe] Miocic’s a piece of sh*t. ‘DC’, I’m coming for you, motherf****r!”

That particularly heated moment stirred up a lot of speculation about Lesnar vs Cormier’s potential match-up in the WWE Universe after the fight failed to materialize in the octagon. However, it never proved to be the case.
