“That’s Dope for DC”: MMA Fans Left Jaw-dropped as Retired UFC Legend Daniel Cormier Set to Make WWE Debut at Extreme Rules

It seems the barrier between WWE and UFC is getting shortened every year. In the past few years after Brock Lesnar, we saw two former UFC fighters become WWE superstars, i.e. Matt Riddle, Shayna Baszler as a full timer stars and Cain Velasquez for one match. Similarly, former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier, is set to make his WWE debut.
A few hours ago, WWE shared the news of Daniel Cormier debuting in the company, but not for having a match. DC will be the special guest referee at Extreme Rules next Saturday for the match between Seth Rollins vs Matt Riddle in Fight Pit Match.

The match between ‘The Visionary’ and ‘The Universal Bro’ had already excited the fans. However, the addition of the UFC Hall of Famer as the referee has now got the eyes of the MMA fans as well.
Moreover, renowned MMA journalist Ariel Helwani shared a post on his Facebook page. With the news, he wrote, “No, seriously. It’s really happening. Oct. 8. Incredible.”
Many MMA fans shared their reactions to the news in the comments section. It seems Triple H calling Cormier to be the special guest referee is already a successful move.
