UFC is perhaps the most popular MMA promotion out there. The title of its wrestling counterpart can be easily granted to WWE due to the company’s immense success in the field of sports entertainment. Since both come under the combat sports umbrella, the stars feel flexible about leaving and joining the two promotions for the other one.
Time and again, a lot of wrestlers have left WWE to join UFC and vice versa. Similarly, it is not odd to find some WWE stars commenting on UFC or the world of MMA itself. Even recently, a former WWE wrestler appeared on a podcast and talked about Dana White’s UFC.

Former WWE star’s advice to Dana White
There is no doubt that the UFC is successful in its own way. However, when talking about its future, people see some loopholes that must be corrected in order to help it evolve in the future efficiently. Similarly, when Booker T appeared on another ex-WWE wrestler, Steve Austin’s podcast, he had some opinions of his own. When asked about the box-office comparison between UFC and WWE, Booker T had one piece of advice for the UFC president.

“The fight game is definitely gonna be around for a long time, but the sport definitely has to evolve as far as to take care of the fighter,” said the NXT commentator. He also took jabs at the UFC stars by saying, “Look at the guy like Deontay Wilder, the boxer, the heavyweight champion of the world… when he retires, hopefully, if he manages his money properly, he’s gonna be okay.”

While the former wrestler agrees that the UFC will continue to sell tickets, he considers the growth to be rigid unless they evolve. And according to him, the evolution will only come into the sport when the athletes are provided with benefits like health and increased safety while they put their bodies on the line.
Is this lack of evolution proving bad for Dana White?
Compared to previous years, the rate of fighters’ release has increased in the UFC in recent years. This is because more and more people athletes are becoming aware of their expectations. Lack of health and other securities was the reason why Francis Ngannou also left the promotion. Not just UFC, but in fact, not every other MMA promotion gives these services a second thought.
