The UFC 261 match between Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall took an ugly turn within seconds when Weidman snapped his leg, and he painfully collapsed on the mat.

Weidman attempted a low kick on Hall, but unfortunately, it didn’t go his way and immediately broke into two. All it took was 17 seconds for this tragic incident to happen as UFC declared Uriah Hall the winner.

According to Dana White, Hall became the first fighter who won a match without a single strike.

WWE Superstars send their best wishes

Now, WWE Superstars have extended their support and prayers to Chris Weidman.

Along with WWE Superstars, several athletes from across the globe also sent their support and prayers to the UFC star.

This injury led to fans remembering the time when Anderson Silva tried to win the middleweight title from Weidman and suffered a gruesome leg injury.

Anderson Silva suffered the injury in the second round of the rematch when a kick from Weidman broke the fibula and the tibia of his leg. Unfortunately, this was the last match of Silva’s career. Now, after Chris Weidman suffered the same fate, everyone started remembering what happened to Anderson Silva.

Anderson Silva sent a message to Chris Weidman following this injury.

Coming back to UFC 261, the rest of the event went forward smoothly. Kamaru Usman won against Jorge Masvidal in the Welterweight main event.

Anthony Smith won against Jimmy Crute in the light heavyweight main event. Rose Namajunas won against Weili Zhang in the Women’s Strawweight main event.

Fans returned to the arena at UFC 261

Coming to the arena of UFC 261, fans were allowed in the arena. This led to a different energy for the event and when the unfortunate incident happened with Chris Weidman, the entire arena was shocked.

Coming to WWE, even the wrestling giant had allowed fans to return to the arena during WrestleMania 37. This was the first time since the pandemic that the company allowed fans to return to the arena.

Several Superstars reacted to seeing fans at the arena. Even though it’s not happening on a regular basis, the company is hoping to ensure fans can return to the arena for the weekly episodes too.
