John Cena offered his views on UFC
The 16-time world champion said, “It’s done great to establish itself as a brand, but you know in comparison with us. It doesn’t quite resonate with me just because I’m a storyteller. I enjoy the story that we can tell in the ring. Like I said we do it better than anyone”.
Cena was then asked why the UFC was so popular and whether its violence attracts the audience. He replied, “No I don’t think so, I think it truly has marketed itself extremely well it has fantastic exposure and there’s no denying the athletic ability it takes to enter the octagon. It’s not something that I could do and I’m not taking anything away from anyone in the UFC because their success speaks for themselves. But as far as it resonating with me, it’s just not something I’m a fan”.
The Cenation leader was quite honest in his opinion about the MMA juggernaut. While it might not be for everyone, the promotion has definitely taken its rightful place in combat sports.
