The recent episode of Monday Night Raw featured WWE Superstar The Miz in a conversation with AJ Styles and Omos, who have had a rough time maintaining their teamwork. While introducing the former WWE Raw Tag Team Champions, The Miz indirectly took a shot at AEW. He compared the situation between Styles and Omos to the situation that led to the recent firing of Urban Meyer by Tony Khan’s father, Shahid Khan.

The Miz said, ” Welcome to the most must-see WWE talk show in history. Welcome to Miz TV! My guests tonight are more combustible than Urban Meyer and his former coaching staff, so please give it up for AJ Styles and Omos.”

Recently, Jacksonville Jaguars’ owner Shahid Khan fired Urban Meyer after a 2-11 record in the 2021 NFL season.

Even WWE SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee took a shot at this situation. Last week, Pat McAfee mentioned Urban Meyer’s name during his commentary before the Cesaro vs Holland match. He said, “Like Shahid Khan tossed Urban Meyer out of Jacksonville.” 

WWE and AEW are constantly taking digs at each other on live TV with different references. Earlier, AEW star CM Punk mentioned The Miz while addressing MJF.

WWE and AEW are rival promotions who are competing against each other for the top spot in the wrestling industry. They are no strangers to taking digs at each other in their promos.
