Vince McMahon Absolutely Loved John Cena and Roman Reigns’ Promo on WWE SmackDown

In the last edition of WWE Smackdown, Roman Reigns and John Cena cut some entertaining and fierce promos. WWE fans knew what was in store for them, as fans won’t forget the infamous promo the duo had on RAW back in 2017. On that day, both superstars threw in some harsh words and huge jabs at each other, which the fans weren’t ready for. On this recent episode of WWE Smackdown, Cena and Reigns faced off again in a battle of words, and Vince McMahon was doting every second.

WWE opened SmackDown with the face-off between Cena and Reigns. This helped the company draw in an excellent rating for the first hour of the show. Fans were eagerly waiting in the arena and from home to see how far these two superstars will go with their promos and it was worth it. The duo fired some serious shots at each other as Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) and Nikki Bella were thrown in to embarrass each other.

Reports from Ringside News have revealed that the words and reactions of the superstars were genuine. It also says that Cena and Reigns had no rehearsal time, and the duo stayed away from each other so that WWE could film their genuine reactions. The report further added that Vince McMahon loved the segment and the length of the promo left him delighted. The creative credit for the segment goes to John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Paul Heyman, as only the three were involved in the sketching of the segment.

McMahon trusted Cena, Reigns, and Heyman

WWE often restricts superstar’s creative freedom. Many superstars in the past and present have blamed the creative team for providing lackluster ideas to them, which may have been a factor in their downfall. But Vince McMahon gave creative freedom to both John Cena and Roman Reigns for this face-off segment. This move from him is a rare decision as Vince always trusts his writers to do the right thing for storylines and promos.

Therefore, Vince’s decision to grant creative freedom showed that he trusts Cena and Reigns highly. Well, the move paid off, and they treated fans with an entertaining face-off. WWE has now gained massive hype for the SummerSlam match between these Cena and Reigns. Another masterstroke from the Boss himself!
