Fans are really missed by WWE right now. Their presence and cheers can be replaced by nothing, and its almost half the fun watching WWE without its fans. Although the fans are crucial for WWE, there have been times that have made WWE wish there were no fans. I would like to remind you of the time CM Punk went so far as to punch an annoying fan.

The day wasn’t a regular Raw episode. The storyline found then WWE Champion CM Punk get into a fight with the Chairman and CEO of the company Vince McMahon himself.

Getting in the ring to fight for the first time in a long time, Vince McMahon actually had the edge over Punk. Despite the efforts of Punk to ambush Vince McMahon during his entrance and finish the match off early, McMahon managed to turn the tide quickly.

The two then found themselves in a Kendo Stick sword fight somehow, that McMahon won. To escape being utterly humiliated, Punk delivered a low blow to McMahon and then attempted to finish him off with a GTS.

However, he was interrupted by Ryback and John Cena. Punk was forced to flee with his WWE Championship to the stands through the crowd.

When he reached a height, he looked back at Vince McMahon who then gave him an ultimatum to choose his opponent for Hell in a Cell that year. The choice was between John Cena and Ryback.

CM Punk was being pushed around in the crowd

What many may not have noticed is that during this, CM Punk lost his temper with a fan and punched him!

On watching the footage again, it was seen that fans were pushing Punk around and smacking him in the head. Enraged, Punk returned the favor to one fan who crossed the line quite a bit.

Unfortunately, it was later found the CM Punk punched the wrong person and had mistaken the aggressor!

In a later interview, Punk explained his actions.

“I think the whole situation sucks. It’s an unfortunate and isolated incident. I was up in the stands, surrounded,” says Punk. “Somebody said: ‘..let’s push him down the stairs,’”

“I got hit in the ribs three times. I was getting shoved and I was getting punched… then I started getting tagged in the back of the head,” says Punk. “Unfortunately, I lashed out in the heat of the moment and I apologize. I’m really just glad nobody was hurt.”

This wasn’t the first time fans have interfered with the Superstars and it won’t be the last. However, when they do interfere, they pay the price by receiving a lifetime ban from WWE shows.
