Stone Cold Steve Austin has always been one of the most popular pro wrestlers of all time. The late 90s saw the emergence of the Texas Rattlesnake. It was the rivalry between Steve Austin and McMahon that had fueled the rating war and helped WWE defeat WCW.
However, in 2003, Steve Austin would leave WWE. Although he would later often return for sporadic appearances, he never returned to a full-time role. Last year at WrestleMania 38, Steve Austin returned to face Kevin Owens ending his 19-year in-ring hiatus.

During his time as an active performer, Austin was the top guy for the company, however, WWE legend Kurt Angle revealed an incident that had left Austin worried and uncomfortable. WWE purchased WCW in 2001 after defeating them during the Monday Night Wars.
However, it meant the arrival of several WCW superstars into WWE, such as Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Ric Flair. Angle in his podcast revealed that the arrival of Hogan made Austin uncomfortable due to a particular reason.
What did Kurt Angle say about Hulk Hogan that made Stone Cold Steve Austin uncomfortable?
Speaking on his podcast, Angle revealed that the political nature of Hogan and his friends made Austin worry about his future in the company. The Olympian stated that Austin believed Hogan would use backstage politics to rise up the ranks.
He said, “I mean We would talk every once in a while, and I think he was a little bit hesitant as far as getting all these guys in here at one time because they were very political in the past.”
Angle further said, ” I think that Steve was a little bit hesitant on the politics of it, what they would do politically to try to make their way up above him.” However, it did not happen, and both superstars received their own individual push.

However, Austin would leave two years later, when he was asked to put Lesnar over despite little build-up. Recently after his return at WrestleMania 39, fans are expecting him to return again this year. As per rumors, Austin might return at ‘Mania and face LA Knight at the event.
WrestleMania 39 is one of the most anticipated events of the year and has a pretty heavy match card, with Roman Reigns facing Cody Rhodes to defend his world titles. However, if Austin confirms to return, it might add even more to the star power of the event.
