Tiffany Stratton is among the most loved women on WWE’s roster. Making her debut in 2021 on NXT, she would have to wait three years before her main roster call-up. However, it seemed to come at the perfect timing as she got a massive push once she debuted on WWE SmackDown. She was part of this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. Making it to the Queen of the Ring tournament semi-finals, she was ready for her third PLE in three months. Unfortunately, an ill-timed and themed meme on social media may have put a black mark on her reputation.

Stratton was set to face Bianca Belair on WWE SmackDown, and Jade Cargill would face Nia Jax to see who advances to the finals. But are these plans still in motion?

It is not uncommon to see wrestlers poke fun at each other on social media. While this could be done the old-fashioned way, via texts, some wrestlers like to use memes. Drew McIntyre won a ton of hearts with his memes on CM Punk following the Royal Rumble. However, while memes are great for connecting with fans, what’s included in them matters to a great extent. Stratton posted a fan-made video meme on her story featuring a clip of her knocking out Jade Cargill. While the video was fine, an audio voiceover left a foul taste in the viewer’s mouth. The two-word audio in the meme said, “Black b**ch!”

With the context of the video, it is aimed at Cargill. The audio was clipped from another wrestling promotion, and it was not Stratton herself saying those words. When the two were mixed, a recipe for disaster ensued, resulting in Stratton deleting the video because of fan backlash. Nevertheless, she doesn’t face any ramifications for her actions despite calls advocating for it, as her match on SmackDown is still scheduled to happen.

However, this was not the intention of the meme. Unfortunately, WWE fans grabbed their pitchforks and called for Stratton’s match with Belair to be canceled. While the match is still on, no official word from Stratton or the WWE has been released. As of now, her match on SmackDown is still on with Belair. Many fans even defended the star by showing the original source of the audio.

Despite many fans being on Stratton’s side, they did admit this was in poor taste. Several fans felt the meme fit the changing times in the WWE after the Dwayne Johnson-Cody Rhodes feud. What did you think of the video? Do you think it was in poor taste for Stratton to post it on social media? Tell us in the comments.
