Dwayne Johnson is a man who’s known all around the world. His popularity knows no leaps and bounds, but it wasn’t easy pickings for the ‘People’s Champion.’ After his football career, it was WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson that trained him in professional wrestling.
Dwayne Johnson and Pat Patterson share a lovely moment

As seen in the video, The Rock, along with Bruce Prichard, are already at ringside, probably getting ready for some media. Pat Patterson is standing right behind The Rock beside the barricade. We can see that as soon as The Rock sees Patterson, he goes, “Jabroni!” The two then hugged and Pat said, “I don’t see you too often man.”
The WWE Hall of Famer then narrated the story of how excited he got watching The Rock’s enormous picture or advertisement at the Times Square. Bruce Prichard plugs in and enacts how animatedly Pat had explained the same to them earlier.
The two can be seen talking more, with The Rock letting Pat know that his mom, Ata Johnson, would be there and Pat Patterson being the lively person he was, only seemed excited. He also shared how he’s got to get pictures of The Rock and Sylvain Grenier (who was at the show that night).

The video ends with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson continuing his scheduled media, but tells Pat he will finish this and continue the chatting with him. Now that’s really adorable.

Pat Patterson – the Torchbearer
Pat Patterson’s influence on professional wrestling is enormous. The man shaped careers of several wrestlers including The Rock. It was Pat Patterson who trained the relatively inexperienced young Dwayne Johnson in wrestling. Not just that, but he also arranged for several try out matches for him in the WWF.
Eventually, The Rock would sign with WWE in 1996 and become a major star for them. He then shifted his focus to Hollywood. And the rest is history. The Rock also shared a picture remembering Pat Patterson and explained what Pat meant for him.

It is safe to say if it wasn’t for Pat Patterson persuading Vince to sign The Rock, then there wouldn’t have been no ‘Scorpion King’ in the first place. Pat Patterson will continue to live in our hearts forever!
