Dwayne Johnson is one of the most hardworking and influential individuals in Hollywood right now. The former WWE Champion altered everything about his heel character from WWE and became the most adorable creature that no fan can pass through without double tapping.

Between posting XFL training content and stories about his experiences, DJ shows us his workout routines as well. But one thing that we see in his social media accounts is content that sends us laughing on the ground. And one such moment is the 2015 dancing trend, Hit the Quan.

Quoted by The Rolling Stones as a ‘goofy dad version’, The Rock’s version of Hit the Quan was the internet’s favorite version of the dance. Back in 2015, the dance originated when ILoveMemphis released his single, Hit the Quan.

The dance in the video clicked with the audience, which spiraled the single to the top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100. The popularity of the dance was so wild that it got a revival in 2020 when TikTok began taking over the social media world.

While Johnson might have imitated the viral dance, one more thing that fans will notice is the imitation of certain other major WWE superstars. Namely, the strut of the legendary Ric Flair, which the Nature Boy still does in his appearances. Also, there was the machine gun imitation of a fellow wrestler-turned-Hollywood superstar, Dave Batista.

There is a reason that Johnson was the god on the mic. While his in-ring skills were admirable and the storylines WWE featured him in were great, that was not all. The thing that launched him to superstardom was his talent on the mic. Just looking at all of his catchphrases, fans loved him on the mic. One of his greatest segments was the one he mimicked, a conversation between Billy Gunn and God. After winning the King of the Ring, Gunn had plans for a singles career until The Rock forgot his name. While Gunn’s entire career flopped after that, the iconic catchphrase ‘It doesn’t matter’ was born.
