WWE Legend John Cena is, for many fans, the greatest babyface in WWE history. Cena redefined what it is to play a “good guy” character in WWE. Consequently, his run in WWE during the Ruthless Aggression era is legendary. For a very long time, John was the face of the company. However, he did not always play the good guy.

Before WWE recognized his potential as perhaps the greatest wrestler of all time, Cena had a very different character. His infamous “Thuganomics” character initially gained him some success. Here Cena shockingly played a heel character, and he dressed up in sports jerseys while rapping most of his promos. Hence, his work in this old music video does not come as a surprise.

The video is of a song called “H-U-S-T-L-E” by popular rapper Murs. Murs gained a lot of fame in the music industry during the early 2000s for his rap. Moreover, it looks like he got to collaborate with the WWE as well. The leader of the Cenation appears towards the end of the video, where he does something unbelievable.

In this rap video, John Cena joins Murs as he spits out a few rhymes while walking down the street. As he raps, a lot of people come in his way, and Cena tackles them. He slams one person into a car, throws another into a steel gate. However, shockingly, John also pushes a little kid onto the road as Murs watches on.

It is hard to believe that WWE’s greatest babyface once did this in a video. Kayfabe was very strong back then, so it is possible Cena was doing this while in his WWE character.

As WWE made its way into the PG era, Cena’s character would not have flown with a family-friendly show. Perhaps that was the best decision John and WWE made as his new character created history. He entered into a new level of superstardom with his babyface character that might not have happened as the “Doctor of Thuganomics”
