After a grueling match with the ‘untouchable’ Carmella, Sasha Banks still sat atop of the SmackDown Women’s division. Banks was overpowered multiple times in the title match, but she came through with the ‘help’ of a legend.

The Boss’s love for the late Eddie Guerrero is well-known. She even cites the Latino Heat as the reason she started wrestling. Hence, she often pays tribute to him in her matches, be it through ring gears or moves.

At TLC, Carmella was battering Banks in every way possible. Even her sommelier, Reginald interfered and helped her multiple times. However, Banks got an opening with a backbreaker, kicks, and a suplex.

Then the tributes to Guerrero came through. Banks perfectly executed three amigos (three back-to-back suplexes) and followed it up with a huge Frog Splash. Banks went for the cover, but it resulted in a close count as Carmella kicked out at two.

After the tribute, Banks slowly found her grip in the match and eventually remained the champion.

Carmella tried variations of pins, facebuster, and a code of silence to win the match. However, Banks always made it out of her grasp. Towards the end, Carmella kept trying for the pin. When Banks put her into the Banks Statement, Reginald pulled Carmella out of the ring.

As Carmella got ready for another facebuster, Banks countered that into a Bank Statement. Without the assistance of Reginald, Carmella tapped out this time. As a result, ‘The Boss’ retained her belt.
