WWE Monday Night Raw: March 8, 2021, featured a match between arch-rivals Sheamus and Drew McIntyre.

While the match in itself was just decent, one particular moment made quite an impression on the WWE Universe.

It so happened that both McIntyre and Sheamus rushed at each other with the steel stairs lodged on their shoulders. The staircases collided, and Sheamus got knocked to the ground while McIntyre went over the arena barricades.

It was a hilarious moment and one that genuinely entertained the audience.

Unfortunately, the match couldn’t move forward after this since both of them sustained a heavy impact from the collision. Subsequently, the bout was ruled as a ‘No Contest’ and both men were given medical help following this incident.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus started feuding after McIntyre lost the WWE Championship to The Miz at Elimination Chamber 2021. They were engaged in a storyline before which started off with friendship but soon turned sour.

What is next for Drew McIntyre and Sheamus?

Considering that neither of them holds a title at the moment, we don’t really know where WWE will take this rivalry. It’s possible that this rivalry will decide the number one contender for the WWE Championship in the future.

However, as of now, Drew McIntyre or Sheamus are yet to book their spot at WrestleMania. WWE may change this situation at a future date, but for now, McIntyre doesn’t have a spot.

On the other hand, if WWE doesn’t move forward with McIntyre vs. Sheamus for WrestleMania, there’s not a lot of Superstars on the roster McIntyre can be booked against.

He’s had a rivalry with Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Keith Lee, and others during his time as the WWE Champion. The only other option the company has at the moment is to bring back McIntyre into a storyline with Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship title.

Finally, Sheamus has made quite an impression on the WWE Universe. Hence, unlike a few months back, he won’t be an underwhelming WrestleMania opponent for Drew McIntyre.

Even though it will not be a title match, it’s still going to attract viewers considering the caliber of the two Superstars.
