After nearly five years of doing shows in Saudi Arabia, Sami Zayn finally stepped foot in the country representing WWE. Due to the tension between Saudi and Syria, the country of Zayn’s parents, he never went to Saudi Arabia for any previous PLEs. The fanbase in the country welcomed him with open arms and Zayn was excited too. Two special people in his life were also excited to see him perform in his homeland’s neighboring country.

The special people are none other than his wife Khadijah Sebei and his son Rami Sebei Jr. While the 38-year-old Syrian descent WWE superstar made his entrance, his wife and son watched him from home.

The former ‘Honorary Uce’ entered the Night of Champions press conference to a huge pop. Even though Saudi Arabia is not his home country, he got a hometown-like welcome from the WWE universe there. 

Furthermore, the next night, Zayn embraced his Arabian roots and entered wearing a ‘Thobe’ in the arena. It was a sight to watch for all the fans in the arena, and people around the world also showed their love for it. Moreover, his wife shared a video on her Instagram reacting to Zayn’s entrance.

She wrote, “WOW! @samizayn wearing a thobe for his entrance in Saudi Arabia is everything! We are SO PROUD of you❤️ #samizayn #wwe #wwenoc #kevinowens #tagteamchampions #samizayn #wwe #wwenoc”

By her post, we can truly say she was really proud to see her husband embracing his Arabian roots. Since he married Khadijah, he kept his relationship private for a long time until February of this year.

The one-half Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion’s wife first made a public appearance during the Elimination Chamber this year.

It was quite a good experience for Zayn to go to Saudi Arabia this year. He had a second hometown moment this year and also he visited the great holy mosque of Mecca.

Ahead of the Night of Champions match and conference, Zayn had some private time in Saudi Arabia. He is a Muslim and hence he completed an Umrah–a pilgrimage to Mecca before going to the event. He wrote a message regarding the same.

The 38-year-old tweeted, “Being a pro wrestler and being with WWE has taken me to places I never dreamed I’d get to see and do things I never thought I’d get to do. It has provided me a life filled with incredible experiences that I will cherish forever. This one is at the top of the list. الحمدلله”
