Big E won the Intercontinental Championship on Christmas Day, beating Sami Zayn in a lumberjack match. The former New Day member kicked off his new singles run with wins over Sheamus, Sami Zayn and Apollo Crews. Big E now has his own episode of WWE 24 on the WWE Network. On this episode, we see Big E being congratulated by his peers and boss, Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon produces the show from the gorilla position, which means he interacts with wrestlers both before and after matches. We’ve often seen McMahon congratulate wrestlers after their matches, and criticize them, for example, Chris Jericho vs Kevin Owens from WrestleMania 33.
Backstage, Big E gets congratulated by former IC Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, former US Champion Cesaro and former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak. However, the most noticeable figure congratulating Big E is Vince McMahon.

After his win, Corey Graves and Kofi Kingston talked about what E’s victory meant to them.
Graves said, “Behind the scenes, you got a lot of people rooting for Big E, because of what he means for everybody. As a friend, as a coworker, and it truly was a feel good moment for everybody watching, that ‘hey, our friend achieved that goal’.
His former New Day stablemate Kofi Kingston also commented on his win. “I think that one of the few things we do this for is to have the respect of our peers. That’s why you saw that genuine emotion. That’s why you saw people picking him up and being happy for him, because he’s a genuinely good person.”

Since winning the title, Big E has registered title defenses against Apollo Crews and Shinsuke Nakamura. Unfortunately, neither SmackDown superstars are likely to be Big E’s successors. For WrestleMania 37, Big E needs a tough challenge worthy of the Grandest Stage of Them All.
WWE teased a dream match with Christian after the legend returned at the Royal Rumble. They even teamed up to eliminate Bobby Lashley, even though they didn’t interact for the rest of the match. Christian was supposed to challenge for the IC Title, but the match never took place.
Apart from Christian, Daniel Bryan is a perfect opponent for E. He will grant Big E a great WrestleMania title defense, and it gives Bryan a decent position on the WrestleMania card.

Kevin Owens fits in this role perfectly, while Jey Uso can be an excellent heel foil for the IC Champion.
