WATCH: When Brock Lesnar Broke Open The Door of Hell in a Cell in 2018

Former World Champion Brock Lesnar has a plethora of iconic moments in his WWE career. However, nothing probably comes close to his 2018 return.

Lesnar had taken a little break that year after losing his Universal Championship to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2018. At HIAC, the main event match was an eponymous match between Reigns and Braun Strowman.

This match was the ‘cash-in’ match of Strowman’s Money in the Bank contract and also featured Hardcore legend Mick Foley as the special guest referee. Throughout the match then-RAW Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre interrupted.

However, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were there to save the day. At one point in the match, Ziggler performed a super-kick, Ambrose stuck the Tag Team champions with Kendo Sticks and Rollins and Ziggler fell off the cell through the announce tables.

During this moment, Lesnar’s music played, and he returned. He and Paul Heyman came back after months of inactivity. Upon his arrival, Lesnar literally kicked the steel cage door open to enter the match.

Brock Lesnar controlled the outcome of the Hell in a Cell match

Despite the officials asking him not to ‘The Beast Incarnate‘ interfered in the match. After breaking the door open, Heyman attacked special referee Mick Foley with pepper spray.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Brock attacked both men with a broken table and hit his F5 on both men involved in the match. After he left the carnage, a WWE official came down and declared the men are not medically cleared to compete hence turning the match into no contest.

Therefore, Reigns retained the title. Strowman became the fourth person to fail in winning a championship in their MITB cash-in match, and the first to fail by a no-contest.

On the following night, a match was made for Lesnar to face Roman and Strowman at the upcoming Crown Jewel. Unfortunately, Roman relinquished his title due to health complications. Lesnar won the vacant title at Crown Jewel after defeating Strowman.

Lesnar would hold on to the title till WrestleMania 35. Seth Rollins defeated Lesnar for the title. However, Lesnar would soon win the title at Extreme Rules thanks to his MITB contract but will lose it again to Rollins.

Lesnar would win the WWE title and hold it till WM 36. He lost it to Drew McIntyre and left the company soon after. There has been no news of Lesnar since.
