Even though the fans loved to see Goldberg return, they did not particularly want him to challenge Reigns for the title. In fact, several fans claimed a younger talent should have challenged the Tribal Chief instead of the WWE legend.
He challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at the 2022 WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. He announced the Tribal Chief as his next victim.

Can Goldberg defeat Roman Reigns at the 2022 WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event?
Roman Reigns has been the WWE Universal Champion for a long time. Several superstars have tried before to take that title away from the Tribal Chief. But all failed, including John Cena and Brock Lesnar.
And it looks like Goldberg might add himself to that list. It is secret to none that the WWE legend has got one more match left before the expiry of his current WWE contract.

Thus, his match against Reigns can prove to be his last match in WWE. Another reason for Reigns to pick up the victory over the WWE legend is Brock Lesnar.
Lesnar has already challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 38, and that match is most likely to be the conclusion of their rivalry.
But you can always expect the unexpected in WWE. And if Goldberg defeats Reigns, not only we will see more of him, but we might also see Goldberg vs Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. That will be another dream match for the WWE Universe.
