WWE Legend Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram on February 4th to post a clip from SmackDown last week. The clip featured a promo segment between WWE World Champion Roman Reigns and Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes. After Rhodes revealed that he wouldn’t be challenging Reigns for the title at WrestleMania, The Rock made his way into the ring with his electrifying entrance.

Although the Alabama crowd sounded electrified with the presence of The People’s Champion, the online fan base across the globe didn’t feel the same. Many felt his return undermined the last 2 and a half years of TV programming just for the sake of celebrity involvement. This is something Dwayne Johnson was guilty of a decade ago as well. Now it appears fans have turned on him on his social media.

The Rock uploaded the clip with the caption, “FEEL the mana ✨🤯 So f#%king blown away by this insane energy from the People. Although The Rock sounds ecstatic by the reaction he received, many fans are criticising The People’s Champ for stealing the limelight away from Cody Rhodes. Since The Rock’s return more or less confirms his WrestleMania Night 2 main event match against Roman Reigns, it has pushed Cody Rhodes to fight Seth Rollins on Night 1.

The fans were invested in The American Dream storyline and wanted Rhodes to fight Roman Reigns and defeat him on the biggest stage. However, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the idea is now pushed away since The Rock is here. Hence, the hatred towards The Brahma Bull.
