Renee Paquette and Trish Stratus had an emotional chat about the relationship Stratus shares with veteran Superstar Lita.

Stratus revealed that their connection started when the company signed them at the same time. Since they were of the same age, it was an instant connection.

“The connection, you can imagine, there’s like no women doing their thing but there’s two women who both are in-training. And they’ve both been signed at the same time, were the same age.”

Lita and Trish Stratus left behind a legacy. They contributed heavily to the women’s division and paved a path for the young wrestlers who wanted to make it big in the company.

“There’s so much history behind us. We had the opportunity to develop as characters through being valets as well. It’s like a forgotten art, being a valet. It’s a great way to establish character.. we got the opportunity to do inter-gender stuff. We had that match. Her and Rock versus me and Triple H. Things like that, like main event, crazy stuff, like spoke to the audience.

“We were riding together, we were on this journey together.. to share that, it was super special. We just kept in touch. She became like my son’s Godmother.. to be really part of the family.”

Trish Stratus wrestled another rising star on the women’s roster as her retirement match

While Lita and Stratus have feuded and have worked as a team, when the time came to have her final squared circle match, WWE booked Stratus against Charlotte Flair for SummerSlam 2019.

Trish Stratus returned on an episode of SmackDown, and during her segment, Charlotte Flair interrupted her. She challenged Stratus for SummerSlam during that interruption.

While Flair won the match, everyone praised the WWE Hall of Famer for her ability to wrestle even then. Not only did others appreciate her, so did Charlotte Flair herself.

“It doesn’t get any bigger than that. I mean women today, of my generation, grew up wanting to become Trish Stratus and Lita and what they did, because they main evented Raw.”

The victory against Stratus helped put Charlotte Flair on the fast track to fame. Considering it was a true battle of generations, both women proved the women’s division had come a long way and is almost at par with the men’s division.
