John Cena, a well-known name in wrestling, has been in the spotlight over the years for both his glamorous personal and professional life. The superstar once dated The WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella. The WWE power couple drew much attention from the world as long as they were together. But even behind the public eye, Nikki Bella had an extraordinary impact on Cena’s life. Despite many on-offs in their complex relationship, Cena later shared his guilt for his mistakes during their courtship.

John Cena felt guilty

In an episode of today’s talk, the superstar admitted how he felt ‘super bad’ about some things he did to Bella. ”Now when I look at what I had done then as to what I would do now, I just wish I had asked her to marry me then.”, he explained.

He had also opened up about a 75-page pre-live-in contract which was completed for selfish purposes. ”I was very abrasive and stern and she had to sign this huge, crazy agreement to come in the front door. So since then, I’ve kind of softened.”, Cena admitted. He also shared his wish to again sign a contract before their marriage. But this time for the sake of Bella and not himself.

Flashback to the good part

However, things between them were not like this forever. Once, in a WrestleMania match in 2017, Cena proposed to Bella with a grand gesture after getting down on one knee. The 70,000 audience present there got totally overwhelmed as she said yes. Just after that, the couple sank into a deep passionate kiss.

Revisiting their old good days, the couple first caught feelings for each other in 2012. Since then, there were numerous breakups and patch-ups between them.  Finally, they broke up and never looked back since 2018. Despite looking super good together, the picture-perfect couple failed to continue.

Leaving the past behind, Nikki Bella married Artem Chirgvinstev. The duo first met on the set of season 25 of Dancing with the Stars. On the other side, John Cena also tied not with Shay Shariatzadeh in 2020, a Canadian lady.

WWE is a place where some fairytale romances are born and some end. The story of John Cena and Nikki Bella comes under the second one. But even after settling into their new lives, do they still miss their good days? Well, that’s a question nobody can risk answering.
