In a shocking turn of events, WWE has reportedly fired 70 people last week. The last budget cut was in April where WWE released 40% of its employees. Last week was a follow up to that. The previous firing included Rusev, Kurt Angle, EC3, Gallows, and Anderson. According to reports, WWE does not want the previously furloughed employees back in the company.
WWE Fires Top Employees
According to PWInsider and Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the older employees were fired while the younger ones were retained for the backstage workforce. As of now, producers Gerald Brisco, Mike Rotunda, and Sarah Stock have been released.

Reportedly, there is a lot of bitterness as the furloughed officials were supposed to be brought back. However, WWE kept postponing the dates each month. Finally, the employees were axed. However, no wrestlers or on-screen talents were released this time.
Another reason for the resentment might be how the employees were told the decision was an “economic necessity.” However, WWE released its quarterly earnings report recently. The company managed record profits for the second quarter. The company also hired top CAA agent Nick Khan as its new president.

Most of the earlier releases found jobs in the rival promotions AEW and IMPACT. The same can be expected this time as well.
Like earlier, the company will release the full list of employees and personnel who have been laid off.
