Big E recently cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to become the WWE champion for the first time in his career.

When asked about his dream opponent, the new WWE champion chose Goldberg.

In an interview with NotSam Wrestling (h/t: Fightful), Big E stated his dream match with Goldberg is more of a possibility now.

He said, “When I talk about the Goldberg match, I never really thought I was going to get the Goldberg match. Never.”

“When I first started talking about it, I was doing tag stuff. I hadn’t done much singles stuff and Goldberg was always in that world. I never really thought it was going to happen, but it’s possible. It’s very possible. It’s possibly on the table. I don’t know how I could turn down just one night, one match,“ he added.

Big E later on admits that his dream match is close to reality after becoming the WWE Champion. He said, “I met this man in the 90s, took a picture with him, stood in line on my way to church with my dad in the late 90s. He was my guy. The fact that he’s still around and under contract with WWE just had an issue with Bobby Lashley, and I now have his title, it’s my title now. Why not? Why the hell not? Just for a little kid me. It’s very possible and making me blush a little.”

Goldberg was last seen in action when he faced Bobby Lashley at WWE SummerSlam. Unfortunately, it was not a happy outing for the WWE legend. He got injured during the match and was not seen on WWE since then.

Now, with Big E declaring Goldberg as his dream opponent, WWE might fulfill his dream by bringing back Goldberg to challenge for the title.

If Goldberg is to return, then it’s most likely that WWE will only put someone with the stature of Goldberg in a title match.
