Many new names will be added to the WWE 2K24 roster thanks to the DLC and Season Pass from Visual Concepts. The long-awaited return of CM Punk to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 was one of the most significant events of the year. So it’s not a surprise that WWE 2K24 fans want to know if CM Punk will be in it.

The man who calls himself the ‘Best in the World’ was not in WWE for almost ten years, leaving the company in 2014. With his return, it was revealed that he would not be featured in the upcoming 2K24 game, as his return came only a few months before the game’s release. However, now, fans believe that Punk might make it to the game soon enough.

WWE 2K24 has finally shown off the whole lineup for the upcoming WWE 2K24 game. It’s still unclear what ratings stars like Roman Reigns will have, but fans now know who will be in the game when it comes out. Cover stars Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, and Cody Rhodes talked about finishing their stories in the official video for the game, which came out on January 22.

However, there is no official confirmation yet about CM Punk being in WWE 2K24. While the Straight Edge Superstar remains absent from the roster, there are still theories that CM Punk might appear in a DLC later on or may even make it to the game in a last-minute addition, much like his appearance at Survivor Series.

Some people think CM Punk didn’t make it to this year’s release because he isn’t in the clip, but there are reasons to be hopeful. The trailer’s footage was shot back in the summer, as Ripley and Rhodes explained in a WWE behind-the-scenes video. Punk made his return to the company only in November for Survivor Series: War Games. He couldn’t have been at the shoot because of this, as he was still signed with AEW.

Is CM Punk’s appearance realistic?

The chances of Punk being added to the main game are still unlikely, considering the amount of work it would entail. However, arriving later in the year does not automatically throw you out of the game. Take Bray Wyatt as an example. He joined the company again in October 2022 but only showed up as DLC in WWE 2K23 as part of the ‘Revel with Wyatt’ pack, which came out in July 2023. Similarly, Punk might get his very own DLC later on in the year to celebrate his time at WWE.

At this juncture, considering a WWE 2K game without Punk is nearly impractical, and 2K is well aware. With this in mind, it’s unlikely that the developers could force admirers to wait more than a year to get the Punk experience in the latest iteration of the game.

We’ll have to wait and hope that 2K tells us the news we all want to hear. The current release date for WWE 2K24 is March 8, just a few weeks before WrestleMania. What do you think are the chances of Punk being added in the main game as opposed to a DLC?
