It is tough to disregard the odds of seeing Edge return. He hasn’t been seen in WWE since he lost to Randy Orton in the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. Edge suffered a horrible torn tricep, which forced him out of action for four to eight months.

The Royal Rumble becomes the perfect place for the legend to make a return to the WWE. He will immediately be a favorite to win the whole match. A potential dream match between him and Roman Reigns could be on the cards for WrestleMania. Seeing spear vs spear at WrestleMania might just break the internet.

If not Roman Reigns, Edge might find another high-profile opponent for WrestleMania. His archrival Randy Orton is currently embroiled in a feud with Alexa Bliss and the Fiend, which means WWE will have to set aside their rivalry. A dream showdown with Drew McIntyre would also be a match for the ages.

If Edge returns at the Royal Rumble, he will need a suitable dance partner for WrestleMania. With all title matches out of his grasp, and there’s no need for a part-timer challenging for the title, Edge needs to face someone who’s bigger than any title.

On December 29th, 2014, Edge and Christian hosted an episode of the Peep Show, with John Cena as his special guest. Seth Rollins, The Big Show, and other members of the Authority hijacked the show. Rollins forced Cena to reinstate the Authority to WWE, by threatening to break Edge’s neck.

One Curb Stomp from Rollins would’ve paralyzed Edge for the rest of his life, which forced Cena to reinstate the Authority. That moment remains one of the evilest moments in wrestling history, and a testament to Seth Rollins’ character work.

A face Edge vs heel Seth Rollins would be a WrestleMania showdown for the ages. It would be the perfect match to mark his and Seth Rollins’ return to the WWE.
